Kamehameha Schools to Present Preliminary Plans at Chamber Meeting

The next North Shore Chamber of Commerce's (NSCOC) Quarterly General Membership meeting will be on Thursday, August 2nd, 8:00AM at Haleiwa Joe's. Kalani Fronda of Kamehameha Schools and Jeff Overton of Group 70 will present the planning process and preliminary plans for Kamehameha Schools' North Shore Plan.   Kamehameha Schools (KS) is using an integrated approach to the planning process that will address the environment, culture, economics, and education of the community. The goal of the planning process is to provide guidance on the future management and use of the Kamehameha Schools North Shore lands of over 26,000 acres. The process will engage the community in the planning process; enhance KS's commitment to and investment in its important agricultural lands; be consistent with the KS Strategic Plan; and use an integrated approach to planning in the broader North Shore region.

Also, reports will be given on current Chamber projects such as the Telephone Exchange Building, North Shore Map, North Shore Driving Tour, Infrastructure Projects, the North Shore Festival, and the Disaster Preparedness Grant in Aid. Reports from our elected officials will also be given by their representatives.

Please come and join us in making the North Shore a better place to live work and play. A continental breakfast will be served: $5.00 members, $10.00 non-members. RSVP to the Chamber at 637-4558 by Monday, July 30th.
