Come enjoy the Christmas lights and sounds of Historic Hale’iwa Town on the North Shore Friday, December 14th. The North Shore Chamber of Commerce’s annual Christmas parade will kick off the Hale’iwa Town celebrations with 40 units planned including: three bands (both high school bands and The Royal Hawaiian Band), beauty queens, horse units, hula dancers, scouts, soccer teams, the fire engine, floats and other units unique to the North Shore. The parade starts at 6:00 PM from Weed Circle roundabout and will travel through Haleiwa Town ending at Hale’iwa Beach Park at approximately 7:00 PM. This year’s theme is “The Lights and Sounds of Christmas.”
Other festivities include:
Children of all ages can visit with Santa before the parade at the North Shore Marketplace under the monkeypod tree from 4:30 to 5:30 and immediately following until 8:30 PM. Photos by Del’s Photo Lab will be available for $5.
Many restaurants will have dinner specials the night of the parade. Eat before or after the parade in Haleiwa’s great restaurants!
Shops will have sidewalk sales, in-store specials, demonstrations and other festivities before and after the parade. Come and shop in the unique boutiques and stores in Haleiwa before and after the parade. Remember, do your Christmas shopping in North Shore businesses this season and save on gas and time driving to Honolulu, knowing that you are supporting local businesses that create jobs here on the North Shore!
Come early to find parking before 5:30 pm in the town’s shopping centers or at the Historic Haleiwa Gym and bring a flashlight, lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. The festivities will close the main street for a little over one hour and will open around 7:15. Please make plans accordingly.
