AUG POLO AT MOKULEIA POLO FIELD
Mokuleia
Sundays
Polo matches on the beach at Mokuleia. Gates open at 11:00 am for tailgating, game 2:00pm. Other activities include skydivers, live band, food, polo bar. On Farrington Hwy. 3.5 miles past Waialua High school, beach side. $7 adults, children under 12 free.

LILIUOKALANI PROTESTANT CHRUCH LUAU In Haleiwa on church grounds
An authentic luau that is a fundraiser for the historic church which still has services in Hawaiian and English. It was founded by the Emersons, the first missionaries to the area, and is where Queen Liliuokalani went to church when staying in the country. The sitdown luau is from 1 to 4pm and is accompanied by great Hawaiian entertainment. Take-out food is 11am to 2pm.

AUG 6 WAIALUA HONGWANJI MISSION BON DANCE
Kealohanui Avenue past historic Waialua Sugar Mill
The Obon Festival or Fest of the Dead is a Buddhist tradition brought to Hawaii by Japanese immigrants that honors their ancestors and perpetuates filial piety. Festivals include bon music and dancing, food booths and other activities in which all are welcome to participate. Bon dance from 7:30pm.

AUG 20   The 2005 WAIALUA COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION’S CULTURAL
FESTIVAL
At the community center across from Post Office in Haleiwa
10am-9pm on the Historic Haleiwa Gym Grounds. Celebrating the community, history and culture of the North Shore. Featuring ethnic food villages, arts & crafts villages, Plantation Days auction &
exhibit, malasadas eating contest, live concert, movies and more.
