The North Shore Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Car Show and Festival at Haleiwa Beach Park free to the general public from 10 am – 8:30 pm on July 4th. In addition to a car display, this family event will include more than 40 food vendors, musical entertainment, hula, bounce houses, face painting, food eating contest, a dunking booth, knocker ball, robotics competition, and evening fireworks!
Sponsors are still needed to help cover the costs for this event, including the fireworks show. Car clubs are encouraged to also join in the fun. Anyone willing to support North Shore’s first annual Fourth of July event is asked to contact Executive Director Kelli Turansky at the Chamber office located at 66-434B Kamehameha Highway, Haleiwa, 10 am – 4 pm Monday through Friday; call 808-637-4558, or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The car show and competition (prizes and trophies included) running throughout the day will showcase car clubs island-wide with approximately 300 vintage cars, trucks, and motorcycles. An individual’s participation fee of $20 will cover the cost of a t-shirt, goodie bag, and window placard for the vehicle. There will also be valve cover races for a $5 entry fee.
Afternoon musical entertainment will feature Liquid Amber, a five-piece band that plays everything from swing jazz, rhythm and blues, classic rock, old school funk to modern pop. Later, the 50-piece Marine Corps concert band will play patriotic music from 6 pm to 7 pm. Ending the night will be the Marine Corps rock and roll band, starting at 8 pm and playing through the fireworks which will start at 8:15 pm.
