Mike Biechler

President

Mike Biechler is the owner of North Shore Law Offices LLC, a Haleʻiwa-based firm specializing in business and property litigation, environmental and Native Hawaiian law, and contract matters. He serves as general counsel to a range of local small businesses across the North Shore.
Mike holds a degree in Strategic Communication from The Ohio State University and earned his Juris Doctor from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where he also obtained certificates in Environmental Law and Native Hawaiian Law. His previous professional experience includes roles at the Hawai‘i State Legislature, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and as a physical education and health teacher at Pohakea Elementary in ʻEwa Beach.
Beyond his leadership with the Chamber, Mike is deeply engaged in the community. He serves on the North Shore Neighborhood Board, the North Shore Sustainable Communities Plan Advisory Committee, and volunteers with several environmental nonprofits. Together with his wife, he is also a farmer and active member of the Waialua Farmers Co-Op.

Carol Philips

Vice President

Carol Philips brings decades of leadership, advocacy, and entrepreneurial experience to her role as Vice President of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce. A committed community advocate, Carol is the lead organizer of the annual Haleʻiwa 4th of July Fireworks and Community Festival and previously served 17 years on the North Shore Neighborhood Board and 8 years on the State Commission on the Status of Women.
She holds a degree in Business from the University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu and is the owner of North Shore Surf Girls, a well-established surf school based in Haleʻiwa. As a pioneering athlete, Carol was the first woman to compete at Pipeline and founded the first women’s  competition at the iconic surf break. For over 40 years, she has championed gender equity in surfing and continues to serve as a powerful voice for the North Shore community.

Marcia Murphy

Treasurer

Marcia Murphy serves as the Treasurer of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce and brings a strong background in finance, real estate lending, and nonprofit leadership. She is a Senior Loan Officer with Bay Equity Home Loans, where she helps local families navigate the homebuying process with personalized lending solutions and trusted financial guidance.
In addition to her professional expertise, Marcia is a committed community advocate and plays a leading role in organizing Chamber events that support local businesses and strengthen the North Shore’s economic vitality. Her experience in both the private and nonprofit sectors ensures responsible stewardship of the Chamber’s finances and long-term sustainability.

Darrell Whitaker 

Recording Secretary 

Darrell Whitaker serves as the Executive Director of Camp Mokulēʻia, a beachfront retreat and camp facility on Oʻahu’s North Shore dedicated to youth development, spiritual growth, and environmental stewardship. Under his leadership since 2018, the camp has expanded its programs, partnerships, and community outreach, welcoming thousands of local and visiting participants each year.
Darrell brings decades of experience in nonprofit management and faith-based leadership, including many years as director of Camp Lake Stephens in Oxford, Mississippi. He holds a degree in theology and is a committed Methodist lay leader. 
His work reflects a deep commitment to creating opportunities for connection, education, and wellness in the community.

Lamont Brown

Board Member

Lamont Brown is a local entrepreneur and the owner of two popular Haleʻiwa businesses--Maya’s and The Fixx. Known for his creative vision and strong work ethic, Lamont has built a reputation for delivering high-quality food and service that reflects the flavor and spirit of the North Shore.
Beyond his role as a business owner, Lamont is deeply involved in community events and youth engagement, contributing to local festivals, outreach programs, and mentorship opportunities. He brings energy, innovation, and a deep love for Haleʻiwa to his work with the Chamber.

T.J. Cuaresma

Board Member

T.J. Cuaresma is a proud Kānaka Maoli born and raised on Oʻahu’s North Shore, with a longstanding commitment to community empowerment and transparency. As an experienced organizer, she helps residents navigate complex systems to access essential resources and services.
T.J. has been a strong advocate for environmental justice, working in partnership with State Representative Amy Perruso to address the impacts of pesticide use in local communities. Her leadership contributed to a pivotal court ruling requiring environmental review for seed production operations on Kaua‘i. She also leads the community initiative Pesticides, Public Health & The Right to Know, organizing public forums to raise awareness and engage local voices.
Her work reflects a deep dedication to the values of aloha, resilience, and informed civic engagement throughout the North Shore.

Dave Fuga

Board Member

Fuga is a dedicated community leader and local business owner with deep roots on the North Shore of Oʻahu. He is the founder of KT Protection Services, a trusted provider of security and event staffing solutions across the island. Dave is also the president of Manu O Ke Kai, a North Shore-based canoe club that promotes Hawaiian cultural values, youth mentorship, and ocean stewardship through paddling.
With a strong commitment to community safety, cultural preservation, and youth development, Dave brings both practical leadership and aloha to his role on the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Erica Lehmkuhl 

Board Member

Erica Lehmkuhl, a retired U.S. Army First Sergeant, brings more than two decades of leadership, service, and entrepreneurial experience to the North Shore Chamber of Commerce. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Erica served 23 years on active duty in the Signal Corps, completing multiple combat deployments and Airborne operations alongside her husband, Jason, also a U.S. Army veteran.
While still on active duty, Erica earned her real estate license, laying the foundation for her post-military career. She is now the owner and principal broker of Seaside Realty, a boutique firm based on Oʻahu’s North Shore. Consistently ranked among the top 1% of agents on the island, Erica serves clients across Oʻahu with a focus on guiding local families toward homeownership. Together with her husband, a licensed general contractor, the Lehmkuhls also invest in long-term rentals and home renovations throughout the island.
Erica’s dedication to service, community, and ethical business practices continues to shape her impact on the North Shore.

Michelle Maldonado is the manager of Rajanee Thai, a beloved North Shore restaurant known for its flavorful dishes and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Located in the heart of Haleʻiwa, Rajanee Thai has become a staple for both locals and visitors, offering authentic Thai cuisine with a focus on quality and consistency.
As a small business owner, Michelle is passionate about supporting the local economy and building meaningful connections within the community. Her commitment to service, hospitality, and cultural appreciation brings a valuable perspective to the Chamber’s leadership team.

Thomas Naylor

Board Member

Thomas Naylor is a seasoned culinary entrepreneur and the visionary behind Ke Nui Kitchen and Open Kitchen Oʻahu. With more than fifteen years of experience in the food and special events industry, Thomas has built a reputation for excellence, creativity, and community commitment.
The restaurant business runs deep in Thomas’s heritage. His grandfather, Tiny Naylor, along with his father and uncles, established the Naylor name as a staple of food culture in California and Nevada dating back to 1924. Continuing this proud legacy, Thomas has cultivated a team of dedicated chefs who collectively bring over 100 years of culinary experience to the table. Their specialties span a wide range of cuisines, including Local, New American, Farm-to-Table, Pan Pacific, Latin, Peruvian, and Mediterranean.
A proud North Shore native, Thomas began his culinary journey in his hometown and has since expanded his impact across Oʻahu. Known for delivering exceptional culinary services and personalized client experiences, he remains deeply rooted in serving and uplifting the local community. As a board member of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce, Thomas brings his entrepreneurial spirit, hospitality expertise, and commitment to community development to help strengthen the region’s business and cultural landscape.

Mike Sweetman

Board Member

Mike Sweetman is an attorney with the Law Offices of Einwechter & Hyatt in Haleʻiwa, where he focuses on business law, real estate transactions, and civil litigation. He brings over a decade of legal experience, including nearly eight years as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the City and County of Honolulu, where he represented the State of Hawaiʻi in criminal matters.
Mike earned his Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago and is licensed to practice in both Hawaiʻi and California. As a North Shore resident, he is committed to supporting local businesses and contributing to the community's growth and resilience through his service on the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Robert Walker

Board Member

Robert Walker is a licensed coastal engineer with over 20 years of experience in shoreline protection, waterfront design, and environmental compliance. As a Principal at Integral Consulting Inc., he leads the firm’s Coastal Engineering practice, specializing in sustainable solutions for coastal resilience and permitting.
Robert holds advanced degrees in Civil and Coastal Engineering as well as Geoscience from Old Dominion University and the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He is a Professional Engineer licensed in Hawai‘i, California, and North Carolina, and is also a LEED Accredited Professional.
A North Shore resident, Robert brings technical expertise and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship to his role with the Chamber.

Bill Ward is a licensed REALTOR® with The Corcoran Group, serving clients across Oʻahu with a focus on the North Shore. With a strong background in real estate and a passion for community connection, Bill helps both local families and new residents navigate the island’s unique housing market.
His commitment to ethical service, local insight, and professional excellence has earned him a trusted reputation among clients and peers alike. Bill is proud to contribute to the North Shore Chamber of Commerce and support initiatives that strengthen the region’s economic vitality and quality of life.

Ginger Williams

Administrator
Ginger Williams ​brings over 20 years of high-level administrative and operational experience to the North Shore Chamber of Commerce. Her background includes a decade as Executive Assistant to the President at MasTec Advanced Technologies, a Fortune 500 company, where she managed executive schedules, national conferences, facility expansions, and safety protocols. She also held key roles at On Command/LodgeNet and The Miller Group, supporting senior leadership across operations, IT, marketing, and legal administration. A U.S. Army Medical Corps veteran with an honorable discharge, she combines a strong work ethic with advanced skills in project management, office systems, and team coordination. She studied at Fort Lewis College and the University of Kentucky at Fort Knox and is known for her dedication, precision, and leadership in complex organizational environments.

Marsha Taylor

Outreach Coordinator
Marsha Taylor is a passionate educator and community leader with over three decades of experience in teaching and civic engagement, she brings a deep commitment to sustainability, youth development, and local culture. As a longtime Waialua High School teacher, she developed innovative culinary and food science programs that emphasized healthy living and environmental stewardship. Her leadership extends beyond the classroom, serving as President of the Haleʻiwa Arts Festival and Waialua Festival Foundation, and as a board member of several culinary and education-focused organizations. Her work exemplifies a dedication to connecting education, culture, and community to uplift the North Shore.

Our Organization

Founded in 1985, Haleiwa Main Street DBA North Shore Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)3 non-profit working full time to make the North Shore a better place to live, work, and play.  

Our mission is to promote, maintain, and encourage the historic, cultural, civic, and economic welfare of the North Shore community through research, education, advocacy, and related activities.
