The North Shore Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Wahiawa Lions Club, hosts an Annual Memorial Day Remembrance at the Haleiwa War Memorial by Haleiwa Beach Park, located at 62-490 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, HI 96712.

This striking white obelisk stands as a tribute to the brave veterans from the area who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II, the Korean conflict, and the Vietnam War. Notably, among the 16 names commemorated for World War II, 14 were of Japanese ancestry, highlighting the diversity within the American military during that period.

The Waialua-Kahuku War Memorial serves as a solemn memorial, honoring the residents of the Waialua-Kahuku Area who gave their lives in service to their country across three significant wars. Rising over 30 feet high, the white obelisk stands out prominently, symbolizing the sacrifice and valor of these individuals.

Engraved with the names of all those from the area who participated in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, each marker was dedicated at different times. The World War II marker was unveiled in 1947, followed by the installation of the Korean War marker in 1959, and finally, the Vietnam War memorial piece was added in 1985.
